Dua Lipa was born 22nd August, 1995 in London, United Kingdom. In 2014, following a career as a model and actress she was signed to Warner Bros Records. She released her debut self-titled album in 2017. The album reached third place at the U.K. Albums Chart and was followed by eight singles including Be The One I.D.G.A.F and the U.K. top-ranked single New Rules which peaked at sixth within the United States. Lipa has won Brit Awards 2018 in two categories: British Female Artist, British Breakthrough Act, and British. In addition, her album's platinum certification is recognized across multiple countries. The parents of her are Albanians from Kosovo. Anesa Laxha as well as Dukagjin Lipa. By way of her maternal grandparent, Dua Lipa is Bosnian. Her ancestors are also identified back to Peja, the Kosovo city of Peja. Her grandparents were historians as well. Her siblings are Rina Gjin and Gjin. The father of Lipa, who was a guitar player and singer in the Kosovan group Oda was a major influence on her music. The music played by her father was in the family, which included songs from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa was barely five when she started singing. When she was nine, she began to learn how to sing. Lipa has performed a cover of Don't Have You as well as Beautiful from Christina Aguilera and posted it on YouTube. In 2014 Lipa signed a record deal with Warner Bros. Records. She released her first single New Love in August of 2015.
